You know when you order a welcome kit, or a BOGO box and it has some things you’re really excited for in it, and then some things you aren’t sure about yet?

That was how I felt about the DigestZen roller I received in my first doTerra order.

I had looked at the websites description of the product and certainly was not upset by the inclusion of the product, but I can’t say it was anything I would have added to an order.
While I would say I’m not someone who has a lot of digestive issues, upset stomachs, sinus issues or heartburn/gas/motion sickness that this blend is designed for, it did not seem like a bad thing to have on hand.

I’ll be honest with you, I get some of the aforementioned ailments more often than I realized.

Especially when I was still a smoker, that morning coffee and cigarette wreaked havoc on my stomach! I had been used to it for so long, until the end and in my active giving up smoking phase, I was very aware of it.

It was a random afternoon, I was trying to decide what to eat, or maybe decide if I was even hungry. Can’t quite recall why my stomach was a little wonky, but I thought to myself “Hey, I have an oil for digestion and stomach issues, let’s give it a try.”

(I’m actually quite a skeptic of things, even the ones I know in my gut to be true, maybe especially those ones, because I know it in my gut, but have to explain it to my own brain. I digress..)

I took the roller and I just rolled it, clockwise, around my tummy a few times, and inhaled the smell from the roller. Then went about my business.
Kid you not, it was no more than 5 minutes when I realized my stomach was no longer uncomfortable and slightly queasy. I was in awe.

Every single time I use it, I am in AWE. And I haven’t even tried using it internally at all, rubbing it on my stomach has been enough for me.

And my ex-boyfriend.
And my dad.

DigestZen Applications

We don’t need to continue to state the obvious that this oil blend is designed for digestive issues or imbalances. However I will list them one more time, with different applications styles.

• Supporting healthy digestion– Taken internally via 1 drop in 4oz of water, or in a veggie capsule.
• To soothe upset stomach– Taken internally via water or veggie cap. Can also be applied (diluted in carrier oil) directly on the stomach.
• To ease motion sickness– Most effective inhaled or rubbed onto stomach.
• To relieve sinus pressure– Apply diluted oil mixture on nose/sinus area, can also diffuse the oil.
• To help relieve heartburn/indigestion– Taken internally or applied in carrier externally over stomach and chest area.
• To relieve a nervous stomach– Inhaled, diffused, or applied with carrier oil on stomach.

Oils That Make Up The Blend

The doTERRA aromatic description is “spicy, sweet, minty, licorice”.
That pretty much covers it. If you aren’t a fan of licorice smell, it may take a bit to get used to this oil, or it’s one you won’t be smelling for the fun of it.
You can certainly rub it on your belly and ingest is in veggie capsules and still receive the incredible benefits and relief, so don’t worry.

More Than Just Physical Digestion

No matter the intention behind the using of essential oils, we are always receiving their benefits two-fold.
We are first energetic beings, and then we are physical beings.

If there is upset or disharmony in the energetic body, it will translate to the physical body because, well that’s how it knows is most effective to get our attention if we are not in tune. Just saying.

If you were to think about the energetics of digestion, motion sickness, sinus pressure, heartburn, what might you correlate to that?

In my mind, when we digest something, we consume it. It is something that we have taken in and have to breakdown for it to move through us.
Let’s take that and shift the perspective.
When we digest something energetically, let’s say information, or change is a big one, it goes inside of us. We have to break down these emotions/circumstances to be able to move through it, and it’s generally not a process we are aware of the inner workings until we are on the other side.
